Pilots transport thesp trio

Bierko lands NBC drama while Ross join 'Community'

NBC has found key pilot roles for Craig Bierko (“Cinderella Man”) and veteran comedy thesp Marion Ross, while Oliver Hudson (“Dawson’s Creek”) is joining the cast of the CBS laffer “The Weekend.”

Bierko replaces Bruno Campos as one of the leads in the Peacock’s untitled Chris Sheridan drama, which is being produced by 20th Century Fox TV. Earlier this month, Campos exited the Sheridan pilot to join the cast of 20th’s “The Wedding Album.”

Last big series gig for Bierko was a multi-episode arc on “Sex and the City” back in 2001. He’ll next be seen in “Scary Movie 4.”

As for “Happy Days” alum Ross, she’s set to star opposite Jay Mohr in NBC’s “Community Service,” the Sony Pictures TV-produced laffer. Ross has had recurring roles on “Gilmore Girls” and “That ’70s Show” and last week guested on CBS’ “Out of Practice.”

Hudson will play one of three leads in “The Weekend,” a single-camera laffer being produced for the Eye by CBS Paramount Network Television. Thesp starred in the WB skeins “The Mountain” and “My Guide to Becoming a Rock Star.”
