Marvel draws Miramax man

Marshall named senior veep of business, legal affairs

Marvel Entertainment has tapped Michael Marshall senior VP of business and legal affairs at its expanding Marvel Studios division.

He’ll oversee business and legal issues for film production and development, as well as licensing, as the company prepares to internally produce a new slate of superhero pics, including “Captain America” and “Ant Man,” financed through a $525 million revolving credit line from Merrill Lynch.

Marshall previously served as senior VP, business and legal affairs, at Miramax/Dimension, where he worked with recently appointed Marvel Studios prexy-chief operating officer Michael Helfant.
