The Intl. Academy of Television Arts & Sciences will hold an Intl. Academy Day in Beijing, running Aug. 16-17, co-organized by the State Administration of Radio, Film & Television, state-owned broadcaster China Central Television and Hong Kong-based Phoenix Satellite Television.
The confab is an introduction and gateway into China and the Asian TV market for Academy members, which will also offer networking possibilities for TV execs.
It will comprise panels and keynote speakers from TV organizations in China, Japan, South Korea and Thailand as well as breakfasts, lunches and cocktails hosted by international sponsors. Conference subjects include the Beijing 2008 Olympics and Korean hit drama series.
The first Intl. Academy Day was held in Mexico City last June. The Days are part of a push by the Intl. Academy to explore foreign markets and raise its own profile internationally.
