GM shifts for fashion

Conglom revs up annual Oscar week fashion show

HOLLYWOOD — General Motors rolled out the hard and soft goods Tuesday night at its now-annual Oscar week GM10 car/fashion show in a tent near Hollywood’s Sunset and Vine.

In one of the most blatant but all-in-good-fun product-placement stunts, GM cars both new and vintage hit the catwalk with thesps, jocks, musicians and a smattering of B-listers.

Biggest crowd-pleasers included Carmen Electra, who flowed down the runway in a red Cavalli dress accompanied by a Yellow 2006 Pontiac Solstice GXP.”Entourage’s” Jeremy Piven busted a break-dance move at the top of the runway and patted the trunk of his ’56 Chevy Bel Air as it drove back up the white ramp.

Lindsay Lohan opened the show and Mischa Barton closed it.

Among those taking in the scene as well as some robust exhaust fumes were helmer Michael Bay, exec Guy Oseary and thesps Jamie Foxx, David Spade, David Arquette, Matthew Perry and Nick Lachey.

Grammy winner John Legend played after the show.
