‘Friends’ night out

Auds drawn to 'Money'

WHAT: Monday’s bow of Sony Pictures Classics’ “Friends With Money”

WHO: SPC topper Tom Bernard; scripter-helmer Nicole Holofcener; thesps Jennifer Aniston, Catherine Keener, Jason Isaacs, Joan Cusack and Greg Germann

WHERE: Hollywood’s Egyptian Theater

L.A. STORY: At the after-party, the too-tiny VIP area at Skybar looked as gridlocked as the 405 during Friday night rush hour. But it was apropos for the film, which is spot-on in its examination of the shifting relationships between four L.A. women facing growing disparity in their degrees of financial comfort.

Bernard lauded the pic for telling such a relatable tale. “There are people who made it big in the dot-coms, and they have friends who weren’t in that business that aren’t as successful,” he said.

London native Isaacs, who plays Keener’s insensitive husband, attributed the film’s precision to Holofcener, saying, “She tells an accurate story about a world she knows well.”
