ESPN has reorganized its public relations department, upping three staffers to veepee status and reorganizing the responsibilities of its top generals.
As new veeps, Rob Tobias will focus on new content, original entertainment and enterprises; Diane Lamb will continue in corporate information and business communications; and Josh Krulewitz will oversee ESPN2, ESPNU and college-sports content, along with “SportsCenter,” ESPN News and news-programming publicity.
PR head Rosa Gatti will continue with broad responsibilities with ESPN while spending more time as liaison with its parent Walt Disney Co.
Gatti’s chief lieutenant Chris LaPlaca gets the new title senior VP of communications, adding oversight of affiliate sales & marketing and international communications while he continues handling consumer press.
Mike Soltys, VP of communications for domestic networks, including radio and ABC Sports, will add to his portfolio ESPN Outdoors, BASS, “Monday Night Football” and the NASCAR series.
Gatti, LaPlace and Soltys are 25-year veterans of ESPN.
Katina Arnold gets a new title, VP of communications, putting her in charge of PR for advertising sales, marketing and new technologies such as Mobile ESPN and the Digital Center.
