Comedies corral thesps

'Housewives' man join 'Ex'

Former “Desperate Housewives” baddie Roger Bart is joining the cast of CBS comedy contender “My Ex-Life.” Cloris Leachman and Jennifer Esposito also have landed spots in the pilot parade.

Bart, who played now-deceased evil pharmacist George Williams in “Housewives,” will star opposite Tom Cavanagh in “Life.” The 20th Century Fox TV-produced laffer revolves a pair of divorced couples.

Bart appeared in “The Producers” on Broadway as well as last year’s feature adaptation of the tuner.

Esposito will replace Alicia Witt as the title character in “More, Patience,” the Sony Pictures TV-produced comedy for Fox. Witt dropped out of the skein last week.

Esposito, currently starring in the WB’s “Related,” will be the third thesp to take a crack at the role of shrink Patience More: Mary McCormack starred in Fox’s first stab at the project back in 2001.

Leachman, meanwhile, is set to play the snarky mom of brothers Eddie McClintock and Craig Bierko in NBC’s untitled Chris Sheridan comedy. Pilot’s from 20th Century Fox TV.
