CTV re-upped its 'Idol' amount

A Canadian program buyer (Canucks typically wait until after U.S. domestic strips launch before deciding whether to fork out for them), stepped up bigtime Wednesday for a key syndie project, while another Canuck broadcaster inked for a primetime midseason megahit. Chum TV snapped up King World’s upcoming gabber hosted by peppery Food Network fave Rachael Ray. And CTV re-upped for current and future seasons of FremantleMedia’s “American Idol,” which began last week on Fox, and extended its deal with Fremantle for the format rights to “Canadian Idol.”
