WHAT: The unveiling of the Cherry Lane Theater’s renovated facilities and its second annual Legacy kudos on Monday night.

WHO: Honorees Edward Albee, David Henry Hwang and John F. Breglio; host Judith Ivey; and guests including F. Murray Abraham, Dule Hill, Daisy Foote and Michael Patrick King

WHERE: Cherry Lane Theater in Greenwich Village

THEATER TLC: Before Robby Benson and Karla DeVito sang a duet from “Pirates of Penzance,” Albee remarked on the theater’s renovations.

“It doesn’t look any different to me than it did when we were first here over 40 years ago,” Albee said. However, scribe admitted the changes would foster future business. “Air conditioning and comfortable seats help a lot. Audiences aren’t as courageous as they used to be. I just hope they will keep doing plays (here) as good as the ones we did in the past 50 years.”
