ABC ‘Pushing’ revival drama

Procedural follows a man who can bring back the dead

ABC has given a put pilot commitment to “Pushing Daisies,” a high-concept hour from scribe Bryan Fuller (“Heroes”) and “American Beauty” producers Dan Jinks and Bruce Cohen.

Romance-tinged procedural follows a man who can touch dead people — and bring them back to life. Jinks and Cohen will exec produce via the Jinks/Cohen Co. and Warner Bros. Television.

Alphabet has attached a significant penalty to its put pilot commitment.

Fuller’s relationship with Jinks/Cohen also extends into the feature realm. Company is developing “Alice,” an interpretation of “Alice in Wonderland” that Fuller wrote on spec.

Jinks and Cohen are already at work on another project for ABC, exec producing the midseason conspiracy drama “Traveler.” Net has ordered eight episodes of the series, which is expected to debut next spring.

Duo’s other feature credits include “Big Fish” and upcoming John August pic “The Nines.”

Fuller knows his dead folks. He created the Showtime skein “Dead Like Me.” He then created the critically beloved but short-lived Fox dramedy “Wonderfalls.”

Scribe is currently a co-exec producer on “Heroes.”
