WHAT: Irwin Winkler‘s “Home of the Brave” preem Tuesday at the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences in BevHills.

ONE FOR THE TROOPS: During the project’s development, MGM’s Rick Sands never saw the film as for or against the war. “It’s a pro-soldier movie, and it deals with the trials and tribulations of soldiers once they come home, which is a very real issue,” he said. “It’s a very neutral presentation of the war, and it’s about the men and women who are out there fighting. This is an important film for us because it’s really the first movie about the Iraq war.”
