The Producers Guild of America has scheduled its Celebration of Diversity gala for May 9 at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel.

Event, presented in association with Daily Variety, will honor Halle Berry; music group Los Lobos; Anne Sweeney, president of Disney-ABC Television Group, who will receive the President’s Citation; TV producer Charles Floyd Johnson (“NCIS,” “Magnum, P.I.”); TV series “American Idol”; and prima ballerina Maria Tallchief.

“Our industry would be incalculably poorer without the contributions of these honorees, and it’s important that our industry stand up to support and celebrate their achievements,” said PGA exec director Vance Van Petten.

Proceeds from the Celebration of Diversity will fund five PGA Diversity Scholarships. Event’s produced by Scott Mauro Entertainment and chaired by George Sunga.

The PGA launched the Celebration of Diversity in 2002. Org placed the event on hold last year in the wake of Hurricane Katrina in order to focus on launching a free four-month program for three dozen participants to foster projects that reflect creative and cultural diversity, culminating in pitch meetings with studio and network execs.
