It’s ‘Confessions’ time

Madonna kicks off world tour

Madonna, whose 56-date “Re-Invention Tour” pulled in a year’s best $125 million in 2004, will launch her international “Confessions Tour” on May 21 in Los Angeles.

Trek currently consists of 14 U.S. dates and 10 in Europe. The Next Adventure, a Live Nation company, is the worldwide promoter.

L.A. show opener will take place at the Forum with two shows — June 28 and 29 — at New York’s Madison Square Garden. U.S. leg ends July 22 in Miami.

Overseas appearances will take place in arenas, stadiums and outdoor venues. First overseas show is July 30 at Millennium Stadium in Cardiff, Wales. Tour will stop Aug. 1 and 3 at the indoor Wembley Arena in London and close Sept. 3 in Amsterdam.

Arianne Phillips and Jean-Paul Gaultier will again oversee and design costumes.
