NEW YORK — What a difference 13 Tony nominations makes.

Fresh off the May 16 announcement of its baker’s dozen of Tony noms, “The Drowsy Chaperone” ($790,020) saw a box office bump of $157,000, the biggest of the 36 shows on the Rialto during Week 51 (May 15-21).

“Chaperone” already was gaining momentum — its weekly gross rose nearly that much over the prior sesh — and looks likely to gain even more with the May 28 expiration of a discount-ticket marketing initiative.

“The Color Purple” ($1,040,239), which scored 11 noms, saw enough of a rise to hold the No. 3 slot, behind “Wicked” ($1,355,903) and “The Lion King” ($1,207,297). Hot on its heels, eight-time nominee “Jersey Boys” ($1,025,695) rose to a new house record.

Overall, the Rialto saw total grosses jump more than $1.1 million to a hearty $20,610,326. Nearly every show got a lift, with “Lestat” (down about $25,000 to $448,525) and “Hot Feet” (dipping by about $20,000 to $297,895) among the week’s few exceptions. (Neither tuner made a strong showing in the noms, with “Hot Feet” shut out completely.)

“The Wedding Singer” ($559,885) got a nice $100,000 boost from its five noms, although at about half its gross potential, the show has some ground to cover before it’s a hit.

Also benefiting from the springtime buzz of activity were perennials “The Producers” ($728,636) and “Rent” ($499,863), both up around $120,000. “Mamma Mia!” ($1,004,000) saw a smaller increase, but nonetheless crept back up into the millionaires’ club.

Meanwhile, “Barefoot in the Park” ($216,023), “The Caine Mutiny Court-Martial” ($186,247) and “Festen” ($128,392), all battered by unenthusiastic reviews and the competitive marketplace, played their final perfs.

The 24 musicals grossed $16,099,689 for 78.1% of the Broadway total, with attendance of 219,500 at 84.1% capacity.

The 12 plays grossed $4,510,637 for 21.9% of the Broadway total, with attendance of 63,815 at 71.2% capacity.

Average paid admission was $73.35 for musicals, $70.68 for plays and $72.75 for all shows.
