Fest kudos get Blessing

Playwright Lee Blessing (“Eleemosynary,” “Going to St. Ives”) went to the Humana Festival in Louisville, Ky., last weekend and came home with the Steinberg/American Theater Critics Assn.’s new-play award.

The scribe, honored for “A Body of Water,” also pocketed a cash prize of $25,000 at a Humana ceremony on Saturday.

Play, which follows an older couple who wake up together in a house with no memory of who or where they are, preemed at the Guthrie in 2005.

ATCA bestowed upon August Wilson a posthumous citation for “Radio Golf,” currently making a tour of regionals on its path to Broadway, and handed another to Adam Rapp for “Red Light Winter,” now playing Off Broadway. Both awards came with $7,500 cash prizes.
