Eyring tapped head of service organization

Executive new director of Theater Communications Group

NEW HAVEN, Conn. — Teresa Eyring, a senior executive at theaters across the country and managing director of Minneapolis’ Tony Award-winning Children’s Theater Company, is the new executive director of Theater Communications Group.

She succeeds Ben Cameron at the national service organization for 440 American not-for-profits.

Eyring will begin her job in March, taking over for interim director Gigi Bolt, who has guided the organization since Cameron resigned in June. He left after eight years to become program director for the arts for the Doris Duke Charitable Foundation. His deputy director, Joan Channick, left shortly thereafter to become managing director of New Haven’s Long Wharf Theater.

Eyring began her career as director of development at the Woolly Mammoth Theater Company of Washington, D.C. She also had stints as assistant executive director of Minneapolis’ Guthrie Theater and managing director of Philly’s Wilma Theater.
