‘Bee’ to buzz in Brentwood

Tony winner makes way to City of Angels

“The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee,” which has open-ended runs in San Francisco and Chicago in addition to Broadway, will begin a limited engagement May 23, 2007, at the Brentwood Theater as part Broadway/L.A.’s 2006-2007 season.

Nederlander Org’s Broadway/L.A. will present its 2006-2007 season, which includes six L.A. premieres, in the Pantages, plus the Wadsworth and Brentwood theaters.

Pantages presentations are “Dirty Rotten Scoundrels” (Aug. 15-27); “Sweet Charity,” starring Molly Ringwald (Oct. 11-22); singing group the Ten Tenors (Oct. 24-Nov. 5); and “The Lion King” (Nov. 16-Jan. 7).

Wadsworth shows are “Legends!” starring Joan Collins and Linda Evans (Jan. 16-28) and Christian boy-band spoof “Altar Boyz” (Feb. 20-March 4).

Prices for the 2006-2007 Broadway/L.A. season range from $202 to $542 for the seven-show series.
