Stockholm toasts ‘Sherrybaby’

Gyllenhaal scoops best actress gong

STOCKHOLM — U.S. drama “Sherrybaby” won best pic at the Stockholm Intl. Film Festival, which wrapped Saturday.

Pic, about a young woman just released from jail, is the feature debut of helmer Laurie Collyer.

Maggie Gyllenhaal scooped the award for best actress for her performance in the film.

Ryan Gosling was named best actor for his role in “Half Nelson,” while the festival’s audience award went to “Little Miss Sunshine” by Jonathan Dayton and Valerie Faris.

Norwegian pic “Uro,” helmed by Stefan Faldbakken, was given the international critics’ prize for best Nordic film.

Swedish helmer Lasse Hallstrom was presented the festival’s lifetime achievement award, while Darren Aronofsky received the Stockholm Visionary Award.
