Helmer Bjorn Runge’s “Mouth to Mouth” scooped seven nominations for Sweden’s premier film awards, the Guldbagges (Golden Bugs), on Monday.
The drama, produced by Clas Gunnarsson of Zoyd Prods., was nominated for film, director and actor (Peter Andersson). Pic also earned nods for supporting actress and actor, screenplay and cinematography. Runge’s last feature, “Daybreak,” received eight nominations in 2004.
Josef Fares’ foreign-language Oscar hopeful “Zozo” has four nominations, and will face off with “Mouth” for film and director honors.
The third pic to receive a nomination for film among last year’s 34 Swedish features was “Nina’s Journey,” directed by Lena Einhorn and produced by Kaska Krosny.
The Guldbagge nominations are of great B.O. importance for Swedish pics. “Mouth to Mouth” has had a slow start on no more than 10 prints since its Christmas release. Distributor Sonet Film will increase the number of prints from next week.
The 39th Guldbagge Awards ceremony takes place in Goteborg on Jan. 30. Swedish Television (SVT) will broadcast the event live.
