Hey critics! Are you man enough to step out from behind your computer and take on a filmmaker in the ring?
That’s the unusual challenge issued by Uwe Boll, the director behind such commercial flops as “Bloodrayne” and “Alone in the Dark,” videogame adaptations that have been excoriated by critics.
Last week, the German filmmaker issued a press release challenging any critic who can prove he has slammed Boll to take part in boxing matches that may be included in his next movie, “Postal,” which shoots in Vancouver this fall.
The invitation isn’t limited to professional critics, according to the release:
“Uwe Boll’s invitation to fight and/or appear in his film is extended to all his harshest critics. Roger Avary and Quentin Tarantino are among the most eligible candidates.”
But why just limit it to “Postal?”
Given the number of videogame fans who have begged online for some way to stop Boll from adapting their favorite titles, we smell a very profitable pay-per-view special.
