Woodstock prizes ‘Day’

Helmer Kopple honored with Maverick Award

The seventh annual Woodstock Film Festival, wrapped Sunday having screened more than 150 films.

Julia Loktev’s “Day Night Day Night,” which follows a 19-year-old girl’s preparation for a suicide bombing, nabbed the feature film award and John Mounier’s look at Hasidic life, “Beyond Eyruv,” won for doc.

The festival also honored documentary filmmaker Barbara Kopple with its Maverick Award. Her doc on the Dixie Chicks, “Shut Up and Sing,” was the fest’s closing-night film.

IFC Films head Jonathan Sehring was awarded the Trailblazer Award.

Festival began Oct. 11.
