TriStar marketing senior VP Marc Weinstock has been named exec VP of marketing for Screen Gems.
He will oversee marketing on all Screen Gems titles, including “Underworld: Evolution,” “When a Stranger Calls,” “Ultraviolet” and “The Covenant.” In addition, he will continue to work on TriStar films such as Christophe Gans’ “Silent Hill,” Ryan Murphy’s “Running With Scissors” and the Sandra Bullock/Julian McMahon pic “Premonition.”
Weinstock will assume the Screen Gems duties previously overseen by Valerie Van Galder, who recently was named prexy of domestic marketing for Columbia TriStar Marketing Group.
Before joining TriStar, Weinstock worked on marketing for Screen Gems on such campaigns as “The Exorcism of Emily Rose,” “Boogeyman,” “You Got Served” and “Underworld.”
Weinstock spent three years as director of marketing for Fox Searchlight Pictures, where he worked on campaigns for “The Full Monty,” “Waking Ned Devine” and “Boys Don’t Cry.”
