Warner Bros. Pictures has bought the film rights to satirist Neal Pollack’s new memoir “Alternadad” and set it up with Billy Gerber and Anonymous Content to produce.
Tome, which hits the shelves in January, recounts Pollack’s hilarious and unorthodox attempts at fatherhood, even while he and his wife refuse to grow up and shelve their carefree lifestyle. Book is being published by Pantheon.
In addition to Gerber, producers are Anonymous Content’s Steve Golin and Shawn Simon.
Gerber, whose production company has a first-look deal with Warners, most recently produced “Beerfest” and “Dukes of Hazzard” for the studio. He’s in production with “Major Movie Star,” also for Warners.
Anonymous Content’s upcoming slate includes “Babel,” which Paramount Vantage bows in theaters later this month, and “Smiley Face.”
