Voltage Pictures opts against the big bang

Co. opts for more straight-ahead approach

Voltage Pictures decided not to make a bang at its cocktail party Wednesday night following the American Film Market’s opening day.

Voltage prexy Nicolas Chartier had considered bringing a “bomb suit” from “The Hurt Locker” to the meet-and-greet but opted for a more straight-ahead approach.

“We figured that after the first day, people simply wanted to relax and chat,” he added as he surveyed the festivities at Lounge 217 in Santa Monica.

The event drew “Locker” director Kathryn Bigelow, producer Greg Shapiro and writer Mark Boal along with David Arquette, Thomas Jane and producers Evan Astrowsky, Julio Caro and Simon Fields.
