Morgan Freeman will receive the UCLA Spencer Tracy Award at the 13th annual ceremony, held at the university’s Royce Hall on March 7.
The students of the UCLA Campus Events Commission and Susie Tracy, daughter of Spencer Tracy, will present the award, granted to thesps for outstanding screen performances and professional achievement.
Preceding the presentation, a retrospective compilation video will showcase Freeman’s work, including his Oscar-winning performance in “Million Dollar Baby” and upcoming pic “Lucky Number Slevin.” The ceremony concludes with a moderated question-and-answer session.
Past recipients include William Hurt, Jimmy Stewart, Michael Douglas, Denzel Washington, Tom Hanks, Anthony Hopkins, Jodie Foster, Harrison Ford, Anjelica Huston, Nicolas Cage, Kirk Douglas and Jack Lemmon.
