Laurel Bernard is joining Fox Searchlight as its senior VP in charge of media and promotions.
Bernard will assume the responsibilities of Mark Geller, who recently ankled Searchlight, and the national promo duties of Breena Camden, who moved across the lot to be the executive VP of publicity at 20th Century Fox. Bernard will report to chief operating officer Nancy Utley.
Bernard joins the specialty division from Fox Broadcasting, where she was a veep for national media. Before that, she was a veep for media at 20th Century Fox.
“It’s a real treat for me to be working with Nancy again. I started my career at Fox with her and am delighted to come full circle,” Bernard said in a statement.
While at Fox Broadcasting, she worked on media campaigns for “American Idol,” “24,” “Prison Break,” “House” and “The OC.” At 20th Century Fox, she oversaw homevid media strategies on films including “Cast Away,” “Fight Club,” “Ice Age” and “X2: X-Men United.”
