Universal Pictures is shuffling its publicity department, upping L.A.-based Alissa Grayson and Amy Thomases, who leads U’s Gotham praisery, from veep to senior VP.
In addition, Amanda Scholer and Teresa Johnson, currently directors based in L.A., will get their veep stripes.
All four execs will continue to report to exec VP Michael Moses.
Thomases will continue to deal with Gotham press outlets and lead the office there. She joined U in Gotham as an assistant straight out of college in 1993.
Grayson, Scholer and Johnson will each lead one of U’s three teams that handle the national campaigns for its slate. Grayson has led one of those teams for the past three years. Recently departed execs Stephanie Kluft and Jeff Sakson formerly headed the other two.
Grayson’s team will handle films from producers including Working Title Films, Depth of Field, Strike Entertainment and Gold Circle Films, including films “American Dreamz,” “Flight 93,” “Children of Men” and “The Golden Age.” First joining U in 1993, she did an earlier stint with Miramax Films.
Johnson, who’s spent six years at Universal, will supervise campaigns for producers Imagine Entertainment and Shady Acres, as well as the upcoming films “Inside Man,” “The Break-Up,” “Miami Vice,” “Evan Almighty” and “The Bourne Ultimatum.” Before U, she did stints at USA Films and Gramercy Pictures.
Scholer’s team will oversee campaigns for pics produced by Mary Parent and Scott Stuber’s banner and Tribeca Films. Upcoming films under her watch include “The Fast and the Furious 3: Tokyo Drift,” “You, Me and Dupree,” “The Good Shepherd” and “The Black Dahlia.” Scholer joined U from PR firm Baker Winokur Ryder, where she was a senior account exec.
