Marc Platt Prods. has upped Adam Siegel to prexy, where he’ll oversee all of the shingle’s film, TV and live theater projects.
Siegel joined Platt Prods., which is based at Universal, after graduating from Wesleyan in 2000.
“He’s a very homegrown executive, and I’m particularly proud of that,” said Marc Platt. “Adam came to me as an intern, and he’s worked his way up first to assistant, then story editor, then executive, and now president of the company.”
As an exec, Siegel has worked on projects including last year’s Hilary Duff starrer “The Perfect Man.” Projects he’s developing include “Wanted,” a comicbook adaptation for U to be directed by Timur Bekmambetov and star James McAvoy and Morgan Freeman; “Drive,” which Hugh Jackman will star in and produce for U; and “The Dark Is Rising,” to be directed by David L. Cunningham for 20th Century Fox and Walden Media.
In addition to Platt’s film biz, Siegel has worked on Platt TV projects including miniseries “The Path to 9/11” and “Empire Falls.”
Shingle also has been active with legit projects including Broadway’s “Wicked” and “Three Days of Rain” and Matthew Bourne’s ballet version of “Edward Scissorhands,” currently at the Ahmanson Theater.
“Adam is able to move in all of these circles and take our rather eclectic taste and run with it,” Platt said.
