Persistent Entertainment is set to begin shooting indie teen dramedy “The Beautiful Ordinary” in North Carolina later this month.
Casting is still being set.
Tyro writer-director Jess Manafort is helming the film, which revolves around a group of suburban teens on the last day of school in 1999.
Producers are Persistent’s Judd Payne and Matthew Rhodes, with company’s Jim Dominello exec producing.
Persistent most recently produced Lasse Hallstrom’s “An Unfinished Life” with the Ladd Co. Shingle is in post-production with Cherry Road Films and Darko Entertainment on Richard Kelly’s “Southland Tales” and is one of the producers on Jason Patric and Sam Shepard starrer “Walker Payne,” which will world preem at the Tribeca Film Festival.
Manafort is a graduate of the Tisch School of Arts at NYU, where she picked up kudos for her short “Liminality.”
