Oscar Watch: Final ballots due this week

City announces street closures

Voting members of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences must return their completed final Oscar ballots to PricewaterhouseCoopers by 5 p.m. Tuesday.

Meanwhile, the Academy and the city of Los Angeles have finalized road closure plans around the Kodak Theater in the Hollywood & Highland complex, to make way for the 78th annual Academy Awards.

To accommodate assembly of press risers, fan bleachers and pre-show stages, Hollywood Boulevard will be closed between Highland Avenue and Orange Drive from 10 p.m. today until March 6.

MTA subway trains will avoid the Hollywood & Highland station following the last regularly scheduled train on Saturday to the first train after 6 a.m. on March 6.

Until Sunday, the day of the kudocast, additional streets and sidewalks will be closed at various times.

Details of closures and maps of affected areas are available from the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce, the Sixth and 13th District City Council field offices, and the Academy’s Web site at oscars.org/closures.
