Australian helmer Phillip Noyce will hold a 10-day film workshop in August in Nairobi.
Organized by local production house Dada, applicants must live in East Africa, be at least age 18 and submit a story for filming.
“Kenya has such a rich history and vivid contemporary stories that could provide the basis for a successful film industry,” Noyce said. “Hopefully this workshop will help foster some of the filmmakers who will become the future of an East African cinema. The workshop will try to explore the use of digital technology to enable vital, relevant and entertaining films to be made on affordable budgets.”
The workshop will take place Aug. 7-20. Places are restricted to 18 participants who will work on the production of three scripts, and a further 10 places for professional and amateur actors. For information contact firstname.lastname@example.org
