SEOUL — Korean seller Cineclick Asia wrapped up a bushel of smaller deals at the American Film Market, which ended Wednesday, including a sale of auteur Kim Ki-duk’s latest work “Time” to Lifesize for North America.
Lifesize distributed Kim’s “Bad Guy” and Lee Chang-dong’s “Oasis.”
Cineclick also wrapped pre-sales for Kim’s next film “Breath,” scheduled to start shooting in 2007. Territories covered include Italy (Mikado), Mexico (Film House), Turkey (Bir Film), Benelux (Cineart), Israel (Shani Film), and Greece (Hollywood Entertainment).
Meanwhile Korean monster movie “The Host,” which opens in France and the U.K. this month, was sold to India (Indo-Overseas), Benelux (A-Film), Turkey (Bir Film), Vietnam (Vietnam Media), and the Philippines (Suraya).
Other sales include low-budget art film “Ad Lib Night” to Bir Film for Turkey; pre-sales for Iranian director Mohsen Makhmalbaf’s “Two Footed Horse” to Israel (Shani Film) and Greece (Hollywood Entertainment); romance “Love Me Not” to Hong Kong (Edko) and Vietnam (Vietnam Media); “Cheaters” to Thailand (J-Bics) and romantic comedy “Seducing Mr. Perfect” to Vietnam (Vietnam Media).
Cineclick is also fielding co-financing offers for “Breath,” “Two Footed Horse” and Kim Jee-woon’s Manchuria-set Western “The Good, the Bad, and the Weird.”
