‘Hunters’ finds its helmer

'Legendary' scribe Ballarini will pen pic

Joe Ballarini will write and Dave Meyers is attached to direct “Witch Hunters,” which Kopelson Entertainment is producing for New Regency.

“Witch Hunters” is a “Pirates of the Caribbean”-type pic set in the world of witchcraft and black magic.

Arnold and Anne Kopelson are producing through their eponymous shingle. Kopelson prexy of production Sherryl Clark exec produces.

Ballarini is attached to direct “Ditch Day” at Fox with State Street producing. He also wrote “The Legendary McClouds” at Paramount, and MGM’s “F+,” which he’s also directing.

Meyers is a prolific musicvid director who just started production on New Line’s “The Hitcher.”

Kopelson is producing New Line’s “Killing on Carnival Row,” which Guillermo del Toro is directing, as well as Warner Bros.’ “Strangers,” which Noam Murro is helming.
