Elwes psyched for thriller pic

Actor to star in Shortell's '9'

Cary Elwes is starring in director-producer Andrew Shortell’s thriller “Psych 9” for Intl. Production Co. –co-producer of the “Hostel” franchise — and Green Card Pictures.

Shortell will wrap shooting in Prague by the end of the year. Sara Foster, Gabriel Mann and Michael Biehn also star.

Lawrence Robinson script revolves around an unstable woman who takes a job organizing patient records at a recently closed hospital. Working alone at night, she experiences a series of disturbing events that may be connected to a string of gruesome murders.

IPC’s Daniel Frisch and Philip Waley are co-producing. Green Card’s Peter de Bourcier exec produces.

Elwes (“Saw,” “Ella Enchanted”) will next be seen in Garry Marshall’s “Georgia Rule.”

IPC, with offices in Los Angeles and Prague, has credits on films including “The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen” and “The Pink Panther.”

Shortell and de Bourcier launched Green Card in January. Company intends to produce and finance pics both in the U.S. and abroad.
