Disney executive promoted to senior VP-CFO

Shurgot to oversee financial functions for studio

Paul Shurgot, a key member of Disney’s financial team for more than 11 years, has been promoted to senior VP-chief financial officer of the Walt Disney Studios.

Shurgot will oversee all finance, accounting and information technology for the studio, including for Walt Disney Pictures, Touchstone Pictures, Walt Disney Animation, Pixar Animation, Miramax Films, Buena Vista Worldwide Marketing and Distribution, Buena Vista Worldwide Home Entertainment, Disney Theatrical Prods. and the Buena Vista Music Group.

He will continue to report to Alan Bergman, prexy of the Walt Disney Studios.

Shurgot has served as deputy CFO for the Walt Disney Studios for the last year. Prior to that he held a variety of positions at the company including senior VP of studio planning, and director of corporate operations planning. In those capacities he was responsible for finance and accounting functions and worked on a variety of financial deals.

From 1994-97, Shurgot served as manager of studio financial controls, overseeing consulting projects and production reviews within the Walt Disney Studios, including the assimilation of Miramax Films into the Disney structure.
