MGM has acquired worldwide television and homevid rights to “A Dog’s Breakfast,” an original dark comedy shot by members of the cast and crew of the sci-fi series “Stargate Atlantis” and “Stargate SG-1” while on production hiatus earlier this year.Pic marks the directorial debut of David Hewlett, who stars on “Atlantis.” “A Dog’s Breakfast” is about siblings who have always driven each other crazy. When Marilyn brings home her new TV star fiance, Patrick is sent over the edge. Hewlett wrote the film, which was produced by Jane Loughman and John G. Lenic. Pic was shot in high-definition on a budget of less than $1 million.
