Now that the Hollywood Foreign Press Assn. has weighed in with its Golden Globe nominations, the path to Oscar gold is even more muddled. Indeed, the HFPA threw in some doozies, like Leonardo DiCaprio facing off against himself in the actor category, Clint Eastwood seeing double in the directing race and Helen Mirren also competing against herself in the miniseries/TV movies actress race (she also scored a nom for feature film “The Queen”). “Babel” leads the drama race, and “Bobby” got a new lease on awards life, thanks to the foreign press.
