‘Inland’ in Lynch’s hands

David Lynch is bringing “Inland Empire” into his fiefdom, buying the North American rights to the film from French producer Studio Canal as part of plans to distribute the pic himself. A number of distribs had expressed interest to the filmmaker at the New York Film Festival, where it screened for the industry last week and for the public this week. But Lynch was set on experimenting with a new method of distribution. Model will once again test the strength of various windows, as the film appeals to a devoted fan base that might be willing to buy the film in multiple platforms.
