PARIS — Global advertising revenues are set to rise more than 5% annually to reach $495 billion in 2009, according to the latest report by Paris-based ZenithOptimedia.
TV ad coin will rise from $160 billion this year to $184 billion in 2009, the subsidiary of advertising group Publicis predicts.
Internet advertising will advance rapidly, the report asserts, with revenues progressing seven times faster than traditional sectors to give it a 10% share of the overall ad market in 2007. By 2009 Internet will rep a bigger proportion of the ad market than billboard advertising and radio.
Geographically, Asia, Eastern Europe and the Middle East will drive growth while European and Latin American markets will be below average.
