Hip-hop artist Master P has launched a direct-to-video venture H. Hood Cinema. Inaugural release is the comedy “Repos.”
Pic was directed, produced and stars Master P, along with Katt Williams (“Friday After Next”), Nick Cannon, and AJ Johnson (“Friday,” and “Players Club”).
“Repos” was produced by UrbanWorks Entertainment, in association with H. Hood Cinema.
Master P hopes to provide African American filmmakers a platform on which to showcase their talents. “This was the funniest and most unique movie I have ever worked on,” he said.. “No one had done a comedy about repossessing cars, especially not in the “hood.””
DVD release comes packaged with pic’s soundtrack CD, which features Master P’s son Romeo.
