DVD downpour expected

'Chicken Little,' 'Harry Potter,' 'King Kong' hit stores in spring

An unprecedented landslide of box office heavyweights is expected on homevideo in the months of March and April.

Disney will release “Chicken Little” on DVD March 21.

Warner has “Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire” on DVD March 7 and on the new HD DVD platform on April 11.

Also expected this spring are “King Kong” from Universal and Disney’s “The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe,” among others.

Disney, which has announced it will release the studio’s first CG movie, “Dinosaur,” on the high-def Blu-ray Disc platform this year, also will likely release “Chicken Little” on Blu-ray later this year.

The “Chicken Little” DVD will include three alternate openings, as well as musicvideos by the Bare Naked Ladies and the Cheetah Girls and multiple making-of featurettes, games and interactivities.

Among bonus features on a two-disc version of the “Goblet of Fire” DVD will be additional scenes.
