Bill Cella, chairman of Magna Global, and Judy McGrath, prexy of MTV Networks, will receive awards at the John A. Reisenbach Foundation’s 14th gala Tribute for a Better and Safer New York.
Chairing the event is last year’s honoree, Irwin Gotlieb of GroupM.
Foundation chair Bill Lilley of Optimedia Intl. said the foundation bestows awards upon those who demonstrate commitment to public service, in memory of Reisenbach, who was murdered in New York in 1991.
Cella is a member of the Ad Council’s Campaign for Freedom and also prexy of the advisory board of the Latino Family Alliance.
McGrath has used MTV to push politically charged campaigns such as “Rock the Vote” and “Choose or Lose,” both of which emphasize the role of popular music in combating apathy among youth.
Ceremony will be held Dec. 5 at the Harmonie Club in Gotham.
