Luque sales to Telemundo

Exec to oversee affil sales, ad sales and programming

MIAMI — Telemundo Cable has tapped Rita Herring Luque veepee of sales and operations for its pay TV net Telemundo Intl.

Luque oversees affiliate sales, ad sales and programming for the network. She reports directly to Antoinette Zel, exec VP of Telemundo cable and network strategic planning.

Most recently, Luque had worked as VP of affiliate sales for MTV Networks Latin America, overseeing the distribution of the MTV and Nickelodeon pay TV nets in the region. Zel, who just joined Telemundo late last year from the top job at MTV Latin America, had worked with Luque for six years before Luque left to raise her child.

Before MTV, Luque had worked within Telemundo as director of international distribution, responsible for the sale of the Telemundo programming.

Feevee Telemundo Intl. carries a mix of news, entertainment and sports programming. It is distributed in about 5.7 million homes throughout Latin America, the Caribbean, Spain and the U.S.
