Verdict is 'Judy' ratings up 4%, 'Judge Brown' up 6%

Syndie ratings for the week ended July 17 rebounded from a summer slowdown that had been exacerbated by multiple preemptions in the previous two weeks.

Gavelers “Judge Judy” and “Judge Joe Brown” hit summer highs, with “Judy” up on the previous week by 4% with a 4.8 rating, the highest in six weeks. “Brown” climbed 6% to a 3.3 overall rating, the highest in eight weeks. “Divorce Court,” “Judge Mathis” and “Judge Hatchett” all improved upon the previous week’s figures, gaining 8%, 4% and 6%, respectively.

Though “Jeopardy” followed the trend, up 7% week to week to a 6.4, gamer is down 37% from last year’s Ken Jennings-amped numbers.

“Oprah” bounced back from last week’s season low of 5.5 with a 6.1, an 11% gain. “Dr. Phil” saw a minor gain of 2% to reach a 4.5. “Live With Regis and Kelly” rose 3% to a 3.5, and “Maury” climbed 7% to hit 3.1.

Magazines also improved, with “Entertainment Tonight” edging up 5% to a 4.4, “Inside Edition” up 3% to a 3.1 and “Insider” up 4% to a 2.5.
