D’Works, SBS extend TV pacts

Deal finalized during May's L.A. Screenings

BERLIN — DreamWorks and European broadcaster SBS have extended their output agreements by five years.

Deals, finalized during May’s L.A. Screenings, will provide SBS free TV operations in Norway, Sweden, Denmark, the Netherlands and Belgium with new films and TV product, as well as features from DreamWorks’ library.

Agreements also provide firstrun features to the premium Canal Plus movie channels in Norway, Sweden, Denmark and Finland, which are operated by SBS.

“SBS has achieved phenomenal success in reaching and entertaining an ever-increasing number of viewers in their European markets,” said Hal Richardson, DreamWorks head of worldwide TV distribution.

Luxembourg-based SBS has had output deals with DreamWorks since 1995.
