ABC greenlit a Don Todd/Stu Bloomberg comedy project on Thursday that may — or may not — star “The Station Agent” thesp Peter Dinklage.
Even though Dinklage inked a talent holding deal with ABC/Touchstone over the summer, extending a previous commitment to the net, insiders said the star’s reps may be balking at Dinklage’s participation in the Todd/Bloomberg laffer.
The reason? According to industry insiders, Dinklage may be looking to join the cast of the CBS/Par drama pilot “Threshold.” As far as ABC and Touchstone are concerned, however, Dinklage is onboard to star in their laffer.
When asked about the potential conflict, one of Dinklage’s agents said, “I have no comment on anything regarding Peter Dinklage.”
While none of the parties involved will talk, Dinklage’s agents may view Touchstone’s hold on the thesp as having expired. It’s also possible his reps may have considered the Todd/Bloomberg project a long shot for pickup and made a deal with Par as a backup.
Untitled Todd/Bloomberg project is intended to star Dinklage as an offbeat teacher (Daily Variety, Dec. 2). Todd is also producing ABC drama “Soccer Moms” with Marla Ginsburg.
