MIAMI — The National Television Academy is gearing up for Friday’s Honorary Trustee Awards, the academy’s first event devoted to Spanish-language television.

Event, to be held in San Antonio, Texas, will honor Univision Communications prexy and chief operating officer Ray Rodriguez; Univision news anchor Jorge Ramos; Mario Kreutzberger, host of the long-running “Sabado Gigante” on Univision; Telemundo newsmag host Maria Celeste Arraras of “Al Rojo Vivo”; Telemundo sportscaster Andres Cantor; and Mexican thesp and TV personality Veronica Castro.

Actor-singer Carlos Ponce will host the evening ceremony, which will be held alongside the annual meeting of the academy’s trustees.

Presenters will include National TV Academy prexy Peter Price; ESPN chairman emeritus and TV academy first vice chair Herb Granath; Telemundo prexy Don Browne; former politico and Univision exec Henry Cisneros; Telemundo exec VP of sports Jorge Hidalgo; and novela actress Ana de la Reguera.
