Penelope Cruz at the ‘Don’t Move’ Premiere

Northern Arts, the distributor of the Italian film “Don’t Move,” compares it to “Last Tango in Paris,” but star Penelope Cruz de-glammed to film the unconventional love story.

“I checked my ego at the door (while playing) this character,” Cruz explained after an intimate premiere at the Clarity Theater in Beverly Hills.

Among those who attended the debut were her “Bandidas” co-star Salma Hayek, Olivier Martinez, Stuart Townsend, Michelle Rodriguez, Ed Zwick, Paul Haggis and Joel Silver.

“Tonight is a big night for me,” Cruz said. “Getting the film American distributors was very important to me.”

At an after-party at Richard Weisman’s home, surprise guest Christina Aguilera arrived hand-in-hand with her fiance. She quickly found a corner, then just as quickly ditched the house for the back lawn once she realized the celeb mingling was happening outside.
