Visual effects supervisor Kyle J. Healey died Dec. 4 in Studio City, Calif. He was 37.
Healey was a 2003 Visual Effects Society award nominee for his work on “E.R.” He worked with Stargate Digital on television projects such as as “Cold Case,” “Las Vegas” and “Crossing Jordan.”
Earlier in his career he was a pre-visualization supervisor/director at Disney’s Dream Quest Images and The Secret Lab, where he contributed to features including “Con Air,” “Shanghai Noon,” “Pearl Harbor” and “Inspector Gadget.”
A native of Rochester, N.Y., he graduated from SUNY Brockport and then started his career at Time Warner. He left Rochester in 1994 to pursue a career in visual effects and worked on nearly 60 films, TV series and other projects.
He is survived by his parents, a brother, a sister and a nephew.
