Technicolor head color timer Bob Kaiser died May 16 of a heart attack in Los Angeles. He was 67.
Kaiser joined Technicolor in 1989 and worked as a color timer until 1995, when he was named head timer for the North Hollywood lab operations. He led the timing department until his retirement in 2003.
Prior to joining Technicolor, Bob worked at the Metro Color Lab on the MGM lot in Culver City, serving from 1961 to 1989 when Metro Color closed.
He worked with directors including Clint Eastwood, Martin Scorsese, Michael Bay, Barbra Streisand and Oliver Stone, providing color timing for films such as “Sleepless In Seattle,” “Forrest Gump,” “Seabiscuit,” “Mystic River” and “Alexander.”
Kaiser grew up in the San Fernando Valley and served in the Air Force before joining Metro Color.
He is survived by his wife, Gloria, a former color timer; two daughters and five grandchildren.
